SEPTEMBER 6, 2009 FOREST HILLS, Pa., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Officials at a Pennsylvania high school said dozens of students were sent home on district buses for violating the dress code by not tucking in their shirts. Dan Breitkrutz, director of student operational services for Woodland Hills High School in Forest Hills, said the school is strictly enforcing the new dress code provision requiring shirts to be tucked in at all times, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Friday. Watch the ACLU move in and declare this a major Constitutional crisis. And, of course, the long-term damage to student psyches can only be imagined.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2009 SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A Salt Lake City woman who held the Guinness World Record for longest fingernails on a female hand said she cried when they were broken off in a car crash. Lee Redmond, 68, said her nails, which she hadn't cut since 1979, measured a total 28 feet, 4 inches before they broke off when she was thrown from her car during a February crash, KSL Radio, Salt Lake City, reported Wednesday. Such priorities.
BOSTON, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A man who lied to get into a movie set at a Boston zoo, then fell into a fake lion's den, probably won't be charged, police say. Arnold Milfort, 27, of Dorchester, had posed as a Boston Zoo employee to get into the set for "The Zookeeper" Wednesday and fell 30 feet into a makeshift lion's den, where a net broke his fall, authorities said. Let's see: He's deceptive, he's a blunderer, and he loves movies. Make him a producer.
